If Nicki Minaj’s verse in “Monster” can be believed, Kanye West missed out on a sure thing by skipping the Pink Friday rapper’s 26th birthday party at Tao in Vegas last night. Dressed in a sheer body suit with frosted naughty bits, Minaj partied with Kanye muse Amber Rose and singer Cassie before she was handed her pink cake. Though Yeezy didn’t show, Weezy—Lil’ Wayne, in case you’re confused—did make an appearance at the bash.

Are RiRi and Matt Kemp On The Rocks?

Cue “Another One Bites The Dust,” because it looks like another star union has supernova’d. Rumors are circulating that Rihanna and LA Dodger Matt Kemp have split after almost a year of dating. The two have not been seen in public together in months, and reports of infidelity in both camps have been swirling around for just as long. Rihanna’s busy international tour schedule made it hard for the couple to be together, and Matt’s fondness for partying allegedly caused the lovers to drift apart. Kemp was seen leaving an LA club with two women last week—neither of whom were RiRi—and according to an eyewitness they both spent the night in his bedroom.

Admittedly the vague video and the even vaguer story don’t conclusively prove anything yet. Neither side has commented on the alleged breakup, though Rihanna has been big on her privacy lately. Just recently she railed at the press for continuing to ask about her relationship with Chris Brown. Maybe this is the time for scorned-lover Drake to make another move!

Old Spice Guy Isaiah Mustafa Denies Dating Neve Campbell

If this is a scheme cooked up by Neve Campbell to make people remember who she is exactly, than mission accomplished! Rumors have been swirling today that Neve Campbell and Old Spice Guy Isaiah Mustafa are knocking boots, a sexy yet totally random couple if we’ve ever heard one. With Neve’s divorce from husband John Light still in the works, the Scream 4 actress has been spotted out around New York, attending Quentin Tarantino’s roast and reportedly spending time with Mustafa. “They’re dating. Neve is really happy,” said a source. We bet it would be nice if the man your man could smell like was actually your nice-smelling man. Nice, and extremely confusing.

However, Isaiah apparently did see it that way, as Mustafa’s reps deny the dating rumors, going to far as to say “It is an odd rumor that is not true at all.” Ouch! It’s unexpected, sure, but we wouldn’t call it “odd.” We hope these two are canoodling, if only for the pure “Wha? Huh? Those two?” factor. Maybe Mustafa is a huge fan of The Craft; who knows? Get Ready For Your Heart To Hurt: Jay-Z Shot His Own Brother When He Was 12

Ugh, it’s only Monday and already we are trying not to cry in our cubicle, although suprisingly it’s over an incredibly sad celeb story and not just Taylor Swift’s new bangs. While most of us think of Jay-Z primarily as the talented millionaire who gets to sleep next to our queen Beyonce, the road from his childhood in Brooklyn to international rap superstardom was nowhere near as dreamy.

In an interview with The Guardian, the rapper recently opened up about how at 12, Jay-Z shot his brother Eric after his sibling stole a ring from a tween-age Hova in order to feed his drug addiction. Still know as Shawn Carter, Jay-Z reveals that after the incident, “I thought my life was over. I thought I’d go to jail forever. It was terrible. I was a boy, a child. I was terrified.” If the thought of a little baby Hova dealing with something so horrible doesn’t make your eyes get at least a little misty, you literally aren’t a human being.

Luckily his brother recovered from the injury, never reporting the incident to police and even apologizing to Shawn in the hospital for the effects of his addition. While the interview marks the first time Jay-Z has opened up about the incident, he did write about it on his album “In My Lifetime, Vol. 1″ on the song “You Must Love Me”, in which he raps, “Saw the devil in your eyes, high off more than weed, confused, I just closed my young eyes and squeezed.” Despite the fact while that growing up, he himself was shot three times, Jay-Z believes,”It’s like there was some rogue angel watching over us.” Ugh, why doesn’t this damn cubicle have a door?!?! What We Learned From The Jackson Family On Oprah

Oprah Winfrey’s show yesterday featured interviews with Michael Jackson’s parents, Katherine and Joe, and his children, Prince Michael, Paris, and Blanket. It was pretty fascinating stuff, especially when you compare his well-spoken children who referred lovingly to their father to Joe’s harsh admission that he beat Michael with a belt. Here are some of the more choice quotes we were struck by from the hour long show.

Paris Jackson jumped into the spotlight at her father’s funeral with an impromptu speech eulogizing her father. She was the most vocal and open of Jackson’s children while speaking with Oprah, telling her “I kinda felt like no one understands what a good father he was. I’d say he was the best cook ever. He was just a normal dad, except he was the best dad. He made the best French toast in the world.” She acknowledged the masks that Jackson made the children wear by saying “He tried to raise us without us knowing who he was, but that didn’t really go so well.”

Jackson’s mother Katherine also spoke lovingly of her son, but was more frank about his behavior, such as the addiction to plastic surgery and his skin-lightening. She said her son lightened his skin because he started to lose pigment due to vitiligo and that he “didn’t want to start looking like a spotted cow.” However, she says, “I don’t know what in the world he did to change that, but he did.” We’re guessing the stockpiles of skin-whitening creams had something to do with it. Katherine also says she thought his nose got “too small, like a toothpick” and spoke to him about his addiction to surgery, going so far as to ask Michael’s plastic surgeon to perform dummy operations on Michael’s nose so he would be tricked into thinking he had work done when he hadn’t. It’s sort of heartbreaking to listen to a mother discuss her son’s issues like this, but it explains so much in retrospect.

Even more issues were explained when Joe Jackson spoke and tried to explain how he disciplined his kids. Joe said he disciplined his kids because “It kept them out of jail and kept them right,” and that “I never beat him. That never happened.” Katherine later clarified “You might as well admit it, that’s the way black people raised their children. He used a strap.” Oh, see, it wasn’t Joe administering the beatings, it was the strap that beat his children.

So many questions were answered but so many more remain. And while we cringe thinking about everything in Jackson’s past and all the issues he had with his looks and his addictions and his family history, it’s reassuring to see his children turning out so well.

Only Kanye’s Twitter Understands Him

We tried to go a full twenty-four hours without posting on Kanye West antics. Really we did. But he is too strong. We can’t fight him anymore. Damn you, Kanye.

The rapper is unhappy with how he was treated while filming an interview with Matt Lauer, during which he clarified his feelings on former President George W. Bush. Lauer showed only a short clip of the interview to Bush on a live Today Show discussion this morning, in which Kanye explained, “I didn’t have the grounds to call him a racist. But I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that, we as human beings don’t always choose the right words.”

Seems OK to us. But according to Kanye, something happened during his interview taping that pissed him off. So he confided in his closest friend: his twitter. And quite frankly, we were kind of disturbed by the tortured soul he poured out. In one hour he dropped 17 tweets, each one more haunting than the last.

“While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the ‘MTV’ under me with audio!!!!!!! I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show…” he wrote. “HE TRIED TO FORCE MY ANSWERS. IT WAS VERY BRUTAL AND I CAME THERE WITH ONLY POSITIVE INTENT? I feel very alone very used very tortured very forced very misunderstood very hollow very very misused. I don’t trust anyone but myself! I can’t be everything to everybody anymore. I can’t be everybody’s hero and villain savior and sinner Christian and anti Christ! I create, I’m creative, I have a good heart, everyone will see and understand one day.”

Someone give this man a hug and some valium. But then he continued his descent into Twitter feed madness by wishing that the spirit of The King of Pop was hooked up to a social networking device.

“Everything sounds like noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING SOUNDS LIKE NOISE!!!!!!!” I wish Michael Jackson had twitter!!!!!! Maybe Mike could have explained how the media tried to set him up!!! It’s all a f*cking set up!!!!!”

Even after all that, we still have no idea what possibly could have offended Kanye so deeply. But look on the bright side, Kanye! George Bush says he’s cool with you now. That’s gotta count for…something. Hug it out, fellas.

Miami Dolphins Deny Birdman Claim

Lies, tell me sweet lil’ lies. During Birdman’s interview on The Morning After with Angela Yee, the Cash Money CEO said he was awaiting clearance to acquire a stake in the Miami Dolphins football team. Well,The Miami Herald reached out to Dolphins owner, Stephen M. Ross and denied doing any business with the number one Stunna.

“I have NEVER spoken to him or any representative,” Ross said in a statement released by the team. “Not considering or looking for any celebrity limited partners.”

Earlier this year, Birdman was called out by Bloomberg News for lying about his oil company Broland Oil & Gas LLC.

Jay-Z Regrets Big Pimpin’ Lyrics: “What Kind Of Animal Would Say This Sort Of Thing?”

If you were an internationally renown rapper with millions of dollars and a wife by the name of Beyonce, you would probably be pretty happy with your artistic choices, right? But apparently Jay-Z regrets Big Pimpin’, his 1999 monster hit, for its unfortunate lyrics, an admission that retroactively spoils hundreds of Spring Breaks the nation over.

Says Jay-Z, “Some [lyrics] become really profound when you see them in writing. Not Big Pimpin’. That’s the exception. It was like, I can’t believe I said that. And kept saying it. What kind of animal would say this sort of thing? Reading it is really harsh.” Given that Jay-Z is older, wiser and madly in love with a talented bad-ass like Bee, lyrics such as “You know I thug em, f**k em, love em, leave em/Cause I don’t f**king need em,” probably seem like the height of douchebaggery. Then again, we all danced to it, so what does that say about us? Oh right, that we’re douche bags too.

Looking back with distaste at his verse, however, is only a symptom of a bigger issue. Says Jay-Z, “We have to find our way back to true emotion. This is going to sound so sappy, but love is the only thing that stands the test of time. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was all about love. Andre 3000, The Love Below. Even NWA, at its core, that was about love for a neighborhood.” So is the world ready for a kinder, gentler Jay-Z, with lyrics about visiting the in-laws and throwing his grandma a birthday party? Hey Now, Hey Now, Don’t The-Dream It’s Over

Well, that was short and sweet. Christina Milian and The-Dream have called it quits on their marriage. The pair married in September of last year in a low-key ceremony and welcomed baby girl Violet in February. Apparently though, according to a statement released by The-Dream, the couple had broken up before the baby’s birth.

The statement reads “Terius ‘The Dream’ Nash is saddened to announce that his marriage to Christina Milian was unsuccessful. The couple reached this decision in late 2009, but decided to keep the news private in efforts to protect their baby daughter, Violet. They ask for consideration and respect for their family moving forward.” We like the wording “the marriage was unsuccessful”, it’s like an attempt at surgery or a fallen soufflé. As if to say, this one didn’t work, but better luck next time!

The-Dream (whose hyphenated name is about as annoying as Ke$ha’s dollar sign) was spotted recently getting cozy on a beach with his personal assistant, Melissa Santiago just days before he released the statement.

Tiger Woods Throws Out Paternity Suit By Deluded Ex-Mistress

We may have lost track of Tiger Woods’ various mistresses, but they refuse to fade into obscurity. It seems that someone new (or old, depends on how you look at it) keeps crawling out of the woodwork. This round goes to Number 15 on Tiger’s alleged mistress roster. Porn star Devon James had filed legal papers in Florida in June, claiming Tiger was the father of her 9-year-old son Austin Brinling. The paternity suit stated the she was trying to “establish paternity, parental responsibility, time-sharing, and/or child support of a minor child or children.” Which translates to: ka-ching! Especially since the Elin Nordegren-Tiger Woods divorce drama was reaching its zenith at the time.

Now this is where it gets gold-digger bananas. Devon’s mother, who has custody of the child, allegedly performed a DNA test in 2002, which revealed that Tiger was not the father. Miz Devon refuses to believe that her mother had DNA testing at all - to her the results don’t exist - and wants to force Tiger to go in for another test.

Tiger has filed a counter-suit, asking for the case to be thrown out and to stop this massive waste of time. Porn star mommy has results whether she likes it or not, and he isn’t the father. We have a feeling the courts will agree with Tiger, for once. And Devon? Actually, we have no words left for you.

Martin Lawrence’s Wedding Is The Best Thing To Happen To Him In Years

We love happy endings to stories. So when we heard that Martin Lawrence and Shamicka Gibbs got married over the weekend, we decided to do a little digging because the actor’s name hadn’t popped up on our radar for awhile. And that’s when we realized that the good stuff always keeps coming regardless of what s**t life throws at you.

This is Lawrence’s second marriage (the first happened in 1996). He’s been on a roller coaster battling a major addiction to psychotropic drugs, crazy bouts with guns and almost died after being in a coma for three days. So a beautiful wedding after all of that seems like seriously good fortune!

The couple was married at the actor’s home in an intimate ceremony. Eddie Murphy and Denzel Washington were there too. BTW: This has been quite the wedding week. Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, fellow Office star Jenna Fischer and her boyfriend, Jonathan Schaech and One Tree Hill star Jana Rae Kramer … Lala Vazquez and NBA star Carmelo Anthony all got married as well.

More Troubles for Michael Vick

We all remember the Michael Vick saga. He was on top of the world as the golden boy QB of the NFL. Then came the dog fighting conviction, prison time and a return to the sport. Vick is a backup QB for the Philadelphia Eagles and really doesn’t get on the field much.

Fast forward to his current situation. Vick, who remains on federal probation following that two-year prison term for dogfighting, celebrated his 30th birthday with a party at a Virginia Beach club. A shooting reportedly occurred as the club was closing. A fight broke out, and like many club fights, it ended in gunshots. A spokesman for Virginia Beach Police said the shooting occurred around 2:10 am, just as the club was closing. Vick insists that he was not present when the shooting occurred. He claimed that he left around ten minutes before the incident. The video tapes, the police and others who are speaking up beg to differ on Vick’s account.

Kelis’ Hat Is A Fungus Among Us

We know Kelis for two things: the fact that her milkshake brings boys (How many? Only ALL of them) to the yard, and that she and Nas had a nasty divorce. Now we know a third thing: she likes to wear hats that look like mushrooms. The singer was at the ELLE Magazine “Women In Music” Issue party last night at the Highline Ballroom in New York to celebrate herself and her peers (and, from the appearances of Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo, it looks like the event might also end up being an episode of The City, we’re guessing). Other attendees included Cassie and Patti LaBelle, but really, it was Kelis’ button mushroom hat that stole the show.

Drake Is The Whiniest Ex-Boyfriend Ever

While Rihanna is smitten-kittens over her baseball-playing BF, Matt Kemp, Drake is sobbing uncontrollably in the background. Well, not really, but in an interview for an upcoming New York Times profile, Drake shows his more delicate and, well, pathetic side.

The fling, which was SO last year and just way too brief for us to have enough time to dub the once couple with a ridiculous nickname (RiDri or DriRi?), was apparently enough to make Drizzy feel “terrible.” Drake insists in the interview that he was nothing more than a “pawn” in the singer’s game. As if he couldn’t make his own story worse, Drake even dedicated a whole track called “Fireworks” on his recently dropped Thank Me Later album about how Rihanna played him. After listening to the track the only conclusion that can be deduced is that Lil Wayne needs to escape his Rikers Island prison quarters immediately to help his heartbroken Young Money protégé.

Weezy, if you can read this, please use your next phone call to counsel your bitter friend. Tsk, tsk it seems Drake is reverting back to his old ways as Jimmy Brooks, the kid from Nickelodeon’s Degrassi High School.
