Meaning "red-haired one" in French, La Roux is the synth pop project of flame-haired singer/songwriter Elly Jackson and keyboardist/producer Ben Langmaid. Their debut single, "Quicksand," was released in fall 2008, and earned the band acclaim from the BBC and the Guardian. La Roux supported Lily Allen on her 2009 U.K. tour around the time their second single, "In for the Kill," was released that spring and debuted at 11 on the U.K. charts, reaching a peak position of two; that summer, the single "Bulletproof" debuted at number one a week before La Roux's self-titled album was released. Kelis’ Hat Is A Fungus Among Us

We know Kelis for two things: the fact that her milkshake brings boys (How many? Only ALL of them) to the yard, and that she and Nas had a nasty divorce. Now we know a third thing: she likes to wear hats that look like mushrooms. The singer was at the ELLE Magazine “Women In Music” Issue party last night at the Highline Ballroom in New York to celebrate herself and her peers (and, from the appearances of Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo, it looks like the event might also end up being an episode of The City, we’re guessing). Other attendees included Cassie and Patti LaBelle, but really, it was Kelis’ button mushroom hat that stole the show.

Drake Is The Whiniest Ex-Boyfriend Ever

While Rihanna is smitten-kittens over her baseball-playing BF, Matt Kemp, Drake is sobbing uncontrollably in the background. Well, not really, but in an interview for an upcoming New York Times profile, Drake shows his more delicate and, well, pathetic side.

The fling, which was SO last year and just way too brief for us to have enough time to dub the once couple with a ridiculous nickname (RiDri or DriRi?), was apparently enough to make Drizzy feel “terrible.” Drake insists in the interview that he was nothing more than a “pawn” in the singer’s game. As if he couldn’t make his own story worse, Drake even dedicated a whole track called “Fireworks” on his recently dropped Thank Me Later album about how Rihanna played him. After listening to the track the only conclusion that can be deduced is that Lil Wayne needs to escape his Rikers Island prison quarters immediately to help his heartbroken Young Money protégé.

Weezy, if you can read this, please use your next phone call to counsel your bitter friend. Tsk, tsk it seems Drake is reverting back to his old ways as Jimmy Brooks, the kid from Nickelodeon’s Degrassi High School.
